I purchased this unit at Wal-Mart some 80 days ago and it provided an excellent picture and functionality, that is until five days ago. I was going to watch a DVD and tried to access the S-video input and was unable to get to the setup screen with either the remote or via the manual buttons on the top of the set. I accessed Wal-Mart’s site and found contact info for ILO’s tech/warranty support, it was a telephone number with a guy’s name and his extension as well as his e-mail address. This did not inspire me to expect a quality response (more on this later).

I returned the unit to Wal-Mart, no questions asked as I had my original receipt. After returning the ILO, I purchased the Polaroid FLM-323B 32. So far so good on the Polaroid.

I tend to like the Polaroid better now as it has side RCA jacks for connecting cameras, games etc. It also has two component inputs and Picture in Picture. It cost slightly more than the ILO but I now have a one year parts AND labor warranty from a known manufacturer. The nicety about the two component inputs is that I now have my DVD player and my cable box providing true HD images, with the ILO, I had to physically switch the cables or use the S-video input for my DVD player.

My call to ILO support as well as me e-mail remains unanswered after five days.

I really liked the ILO, until it failed. It was still providing an excellent picture via the component input but that was all I could use. Bottom line; hang on to the original box and packing materials as well as that receipt.

The ILO seemed to produce quite a bit of heat compared to the Polaroid. I noticed this while perusing the displays at Wal-Mart. Just place your hand on the back of the sets that are on display and you will feel a noticeable difference. It looks like the Polaroid has more vents in the rear. Final note for the techies out there, the Polaroid has a response time of 16ms which is double that of the ILO, I have not noticed any issues with this (we do not use the unit for gaming).
