it’s one of the few lcd’s with two dvi input jacks. one for a pc, and one for a dvd player. this review is going to be deficient because i have not hooked up a dvi device to this unit yet. it has no coax in, but i have free cable. no cable box reminds me of the famous quote ‘water water everywhere but not a drop to drink.’ my vcr plays great on a 7′ screen, but not on this unit. i suspect that it has something to do with the vcr’s low resolution video quality.
i am in the market now for a dvd/vcr combo unit with dvi out. it MUST also convert cable to rca for me to be able to watch tv. dvd burning to /- r/rw formats from tape or input jack is a plus. westinghouse would have very easily been able to add this unit on to the sale since i need a unit to accept and convert cable. sorry, i don’t have a cable box.
all i can say at this point is that it has a lot of potential for future upgradeability. although the cons listed are of note, i am happy to have a 37 inch lcd. i would recommend this model from westinghouse to anyone interested in purchasing a lcd.

no hdmi in means limited future connectivity (you will be hard pressed to find a device with hdmi out in todays market.) black should be blacker and without loss of detail. increasing contrast can’t make the black more black.
