I purchased the television based on price and picture. The price is outstanding, however you get what you pay for. Just like other HDTV’s, you will need to get a HDTV box to receive the signal and that means more money and more cables. So plan on spending more than the price of the television.
I thought the picture quality for the price was reasonable. However I encountered a very important problem from day one and that deals with the power supply. The television worked fine the first night, however I could not get it to turn on the next day. Westinghouse said to reboot the television by turning it off completely and then turning it on after 5-10 minutes. I said what level it had turned on could not be turned off by either the remote or by the switch on the side of the television. I ended up unplugging the television. As I had to go to work, I left it unplugged for 8 hours. When I came home, I plugged it in and it worked for 5 minutes and then went off by itself and never to restart again. I called Westinghouse again and they said it was the power supply and to take it to Best Buy to have it fixed…fix a two day old t.v…. I returned it to Best Buy, spent an additional 400 and got a Sharp television-no problems so far.
