I wasn’t a big Nascar or football watcher before this TV but now I am. I don’t know anyone else with an LCD so I have to compare in the stores but I am totally amazed at this TV. I was impressed at the store but I was blowed away when I got it home. The dark scenes in Pirates of the caribean are much more viewable without turning the brightness up to uncomfortable levels. The brilliance of nascar and football is so beautiful. The colors are so wonderfully vivid. And then cartoons like family guy look like thick soupy paints. But there isn’t any loss of detail on the edges of cars, football players, or cartoons.

I originally went shopping for a panasonic plasma. all the reviews rated it number one. but then the salesman started twisting my arm. So I went home and researched again and began to understand that what made LCDs inferior before has been corrected and Consumer Report ranked this #1. So I took the plunge and do not regret it, except for size maybe. I only question the sound system of the TV. why can’t they put more speakers and make them more powerful? speakers are the only thing that haven’t evolved with the rest of the TV.
