I read the reviews before purchasing and they were right on. I have had the tv for a week and love it. The picture is amazing. I havent found the dark problem some were talking about. The tv has plenty of settings to combat any color issues. I just bought a dvd with hi def converter, easy to plug in and use with tv.Do not buy HDMI cable at the store, you will pay $50 - $100 for it, you can order the HDMI cable online for $10. I was told its the biggest scam in the business. I bought my samsung at best buy for 1400 with reward zone coupons.I also get a 60 day price drop guarantee. One other thing I signed up for a HDMI cable box from my cable provider, but was only going to receive my local channels in HD. I didnt think it was worth $15 extra a month for 5 local channels. I could have paid more per month for espn, hbo etc. in HD, but only limited number of shows are in HD. So i bought a HI DEF indoor antenna for $30 now I pick up those HD local channels for free with no problems. Bottom line I couldnt have bought a better TV, my friend is heading out to buy one. Look at the contrast ratio it is what gives you the picture quality, this tv is 4000-1.
