Love the ambilight feature, it really adds something to the home theatre experience, you can set this feature to remain one color throughout your viewing (for example, blue) or you can choose an automatic function that varies the color based on what you are viewing. This is really cool and enhances the viewing experience, also you can choose different modes (i.e. action) which further enhances both television and dvd viewing.

Nice color on the television, HDTV is clean, crisp and beautiful

Sound not the best,experience some static coming from the televisions right speaker, however most individuals with a home theatre splurge on the whole package and connect a surround sound system anyways…. Like I did, so the speakers provided with the television are not used anyways.

Did not have any of the problems described by the other reviewer.

Set up is a breeze, plug in components and television searches for available channels, it does all of the work for you.

I did however get a great deal on this television (999$ Canadian) Based on my experiences I would recommend this television, only downside I can see is that it only has ONE HDMI output………I have THREE HDMI capable components that are unable to function at this capacity because of the lack of available HDMI outputs on the television.

The ambilight feature makes this television unique and even though it may seem like a gimmick its not! This phillips ambilight television is easier on the eyes than a regular television and really intensifies the home theatre experience.
